I wrote this song with two girls in mind during my teenage years. With one, it was the ending of a relationship while the other one was just beginning (though that soon ended as well.) Being somewhat colorblind, I always wanted to write a song or songs about color and what it means to people, hence the line, “Purple People.” It wasn’t meant to be a rip off of “The Purple People Eater.” The word “Purple” has so many meanings, that I thought it was quite appropriate to use it at that time of my life. I recorded a rough demo of it when I was around 17 or 18 years old and put it away. In the Spring of 2012, I recorded it at my studio, playing both engineer and musician. This is my second attempt at such a recording. This is the 259th song I wrote.
Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.
lyrics
You Speak Of Love And You Speak Of Hate And You Want To Leave,
But I Need You, Oh How I Want You With Me.
You Need Me As I Need You. Together We’ll Be Fine.
I Speak Of Time And I Say You’ll Be Mine.
Purple Mountains, Purple Skies; Everywhere I See Your Eyes.
Purple People, Purple Love, Our Love Shall Never Die.
(Solo)
We Speak Of Happiness And Fortune, Everything Divine.
At The End, I Want You To Be Mine.
As I’m Missing You Tonight, Wondering Where You Are,
Without Your Love, My Heart’s Torn Apart.
Purple River, Purple Lies; Everywhere I See Your Eyes.
Purple Heaven, Purple Love, My Love Shall Never Die.
(Solo)
I Say I Love You, You Say You Love Me, You And I Are One.
Forever And Ever You And I Will Love.
Purple Mountains, Purple Skies, Everywhere I See Your Eyes.
Purple People, Purple Love, Our Love Shall Never Die.
Purple Rivers, Purple Highs, Everyday I See Your Eyes.
Purple Lovers, Purple Love, Our Love Will Never Die.
Purple Mountains, Purple Skies, Tell Me That You’ll Never Lie!
Purple Flowers, Purple Love, Our Love Shall Never Die.
I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I
could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs....more
