about

This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen "Jolly Green Giant" of "Louie, Louie" fame, The Sonics "Psycho", The Frantics "Werewolf", and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
This song features Wayde Brown (me) on guitar and vocals, Bill Fletcher on drums, and my father, Clinton Brown on bass. We did three live takes of this song and I used takes 2 and 3 to make this version. This song was recorded and mixed by The University of Washington students at Audio Recording, Inc. with Kearney Barton as their instructor. Overall, they did a fine job, but in the final mixes, the bass guitar can barely be heard. I opted to correct this with the current Audacity program I use. While in my home studio, I overdubbed keyboards for filler and the lead part since it was not fully there. Hopefully, this will also fill in the gaps that were in this song. The song still sounds a bit muddy, but it's much more presentable than it ever was before. During the solo, you can hear some backwards piano, drums, bass, guitar, and voices that I put in there. I also added the false start intro, which really was the end of the song that was originally taken out of the first mix.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is song #343 of songs I've written. It can be looked as more of an anti-religious song rather than an inspirational one as some people have interpreted. I used some writing techniques of having words fit into the melody but having the words not make direct sense, a little in the line of The Beatles "I Am the Walrus." I was trying to say that no matter what we may think of God or religion, we can never truly know what is in the heart of God. Under the terms of classification, I guess one could classify me as agnostic. I don't care for titles when it comes to spirituality or religion. I don't believe God and religion go hand in hand. I believe religion and politics seem to go hand in hand as do religion and fanaticism. To me, God has to be more than just a religious experience or else God is not all that He's cracked up to be. So, as I write and sing in the song, no matter what we think that we may know about God, it's all a bunch of "mumbo jumbo" until our time comes.

Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA. and MINE music Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

My Mind Is Wandering Into The Clouds Of Chamber And Time;
And The Gods Sing To Me, That Which Is In My Mind.

I See The Gathering Thoughts Drifting Below Eternity.
Fly Above The Rainbow Of What The Spirit Is Me.
And The God Sings, "A Mum, Mum, Mumbo Jumbo, Mumbo Jumbo."

Peace Is The Only Way. The Soul Within Me Has Died And Fly.
Say What We All Must Say Though Thee Angel Has Cried,
And The Angel Sings, "A Mum, Mum, Mumbo Jumbo, Mumbo Jumbo."

Why Are Words Made For Our Use?
Are They Drugs Abused To Take For No Excuse?
It's Right To Assume That Life Is A Game That Is All The Same.
(Solo)
Thou Hast Found A Gateway To Peace And Eden.
And Christ Asks Me Why, For My Life's Surceased,
And Christ Sings, "A Mum, Mum, Mumbo Jumbo, Mumbo Jumbo."
La, La, La, La (Repeat And Fade)

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
