about

I performed in several bands, and one is called CRIME SCENE. We were a 5 piece gigging band from 1998-2019, and gigs were aplenty. We recorded an entire album of original songs, several of which were mine. These songs were recorded at Mirror Sound Studio in Shoreline, WA. The engineer is also a guitarist and has gigged with us on several performances.
The first song to start the CD is a song I wrote in the 90’s called JAYDENA. It was the only song that was done within 2 takes. It was the most rehearsed song on the album since we’ve all performed it live since the 90’s and the recording took place in 2004. A day before recording, I changed the solo where I dropped down a key, then modulated back to the original key for the secondary solo. Both Jay and I were the guitar players and I wanted to feature both our styles in one song.
And never being totally satisfied with the released recording, I incorporated an alternate beginning and ending from another take, recorded at a different studio.
The members are Wayde Brown (me), Nick Wilcox, Jay Munger, Mark Hasbrook, and Paul Kollman.
I wrote this song in an establishment called The Moose Lodge. We were gigging there on a regular basis before they closed it down. During one of the breaks, the bass player for the group at that time brought his girlfriend to the gig. Her name was Jaydena. I never heard of such a name and liked the way it sounded. The bass player, Sean Crain, told Jaydena that I could write a song out of thin air just based on her name. On this challenge, I did so, within the next 15 minute break, and then we performed it live that same night and got a great reaction. It’s always been a crowd pleaser since.
This is the 430th song I wrote.

Recorded at Mirror Sound Studio in Shoreline, WA. & Audio Recording in Seattle, WA.

lyrics

I Met You Before, I’m Not Sure Where,
But In My Eyes You’re Everywhere.
I Want To Tell You, My Brown-Eyed Girl,
You’re The Only One I Want In This Whole World.
Jaydena, My Jaydena.
You Know That I Want Ya, And Girl I’m Gonna Flaunt Ya,
Jaydena.

It Was On A Sunday, A Church In Spring,
I Asked You To Wear My Weddin’ Ring.
Your Long Brown Hair, Your Lovin’ Soul,
All I Want From You Is More, More, More….
Jaydena. Ohwhoa, Jaydena.
All That I Can See Is For You To Be With Me.
Jaydena. Wow!
(Solo)
Five Foot Five And So Alive;
You’re The Start Of What’s In My Heart.
Let Me Say For Everyday,
That I Will Kneel On Bended Knee And Pray, Pray, Pray
To Jaydena. You Know That I Mean It. Wo, Jaydena!
Before I Have To Go, Tell Me That You Love Me So, Jaydena!

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
