This song was recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle by legendary engineer, Kearney Barton (who recorded The Kingsmen "Jolly Green Giant" of "Louie, Louie" fame, The Sonics "Psycho", The Frantics "Werewolf", and many others.) It was an 8 track analog studio, recorded onto 1 inch reel tape.
With Wayde Brown (me) on vocals, guitar, and bass; Nick Wilcox on backing vocal; and Dan Penland on backing vocal and drums. We had two unfinished versions of this song, so I combined the two songs into one on the Audacity program. This song came from the same session where we recorded "(Why Do) You Torture Me", "All Hail the Chief", and "Steel Dawn." The ending of the song was actually performed from the previous beat right into the next odd beat without cutting, though it sounds like it was cut. That's how tight we were as a band, performing together for several years.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format, that was about 17 years old, onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is the 379th song I wrote. There's no big meaning to the words except that I wanted it to have 3-part harmony to it and sing some high notes when it came to the bridge, and that I did. As far as the ending goes, it was supposed to be another song I was working on but couldn't figure out what to put in it. Then this song came along and I shoved it in there, and, oddly enough, it worked.
Recorded at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle, WA.
lyrics
I Wanna Know. I Wanna Know.
I Wanna Know Why You Left,
I Wanna Know Why You Left Me All Alone.
I Wanna Know, Know, Know Why I'm On My Own, All Alone.
I Wanna See. I Wanna See.
I Wanna See Where You Are,
Can't You See What You're Doing To Me?
I Wanna See, See, See If We're Meant To Be,
If You're Meant For Me In Reality.
Oh, I Feel Like I've Been To Heaven,
But When I Needed You Here, You Walked Away.
I Feel Like I've Been To The End Of The World Today.
What Can I Say?
(Solo)
I Wanna Know, I Wanna Know.
I Wanna Know Why You Left.
I Wanna Know Why You Had To Go.
I Wanna Know, Know, Know Why I'm On My Own, All Alone.
(Solo)
I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I
could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs....more
I've jammed with this guy and have heard this band live. They play with all their soul and it shows--you can hear it as well as feel the music. The Santairs
