about

This song was originally about 30 seconds long. I wrote it around 1985 as a joke when someone asked me if I could write a song in one minute or something. I think it started out as a poem before I turned it into a song. On Aug. 9th, 2012, I added a solo to this song to lengthen it. A friend of mine back in 1987 suggested I finish writing this song since it wasn’t all that bad. I had no intention doing more with it lyrically. As I pondered on what to do with this recording, I just decided to jam out a “live” solo and be done with it. You’ll hear a lot of feedback and me playing the guitar against a microphone stand, etc. I recorded and performed everything. I also did nearly everything in one take, so this song is a one take wonder-wear. First, I recorded the drums, then the rhythm guitar, then bass, then lead vocals, backing vocals, and finally the lead guitar. The only thing that took more than one take was the backing vocals, since I put a 6 part harmony to it, which taxed the limit of my vocal range. Otherwise, this was done pretty much as it sounds. The “noise” at the very beginning of the song came straight from a cassette demo I originally made of the song back in 1985.
This is song #27.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
