I'M ALL ALONE

from LADY LUCK (2024 Remaster) by The Santairs

about

I remember when I wrote this song, my dad told me he thought this was one of the first “real” songs I had written. I took that compliment and ran with it. This song was heavily influenced by The Beatles and Elvis Presley. The music was a bit different and the first verses are a different progression than the last verses. Even the choruses were different. Upon first listening to it, many won’t distinguish these changes until they actually try to learn the chords to the song. Lyrically, it holds meaning for me as well. Even though they were written when I was 15 years old, I felt “all alone.” I knew I was “different” as far as music was concerned, and I had no one to share that with when I was younger. There was no outlet for me to go and do things like they have nowadays. I wasn’t a rock god or anything. I didn’t have the ability to draw good pictures for comics or things of that nature, so I wrote poetry and songs. It was something I could do and it came naturally and felt good. The song itself wasn’t a real life thing where I felt a girl was leaving me, but was more of a metaphor of writing and performing songs with no one to share it with. I had a very old demo recording of it with just me and my dad, playing the guitar and bass respectively. The recording was awful and I couldn’t use any part of it, so I decided to record it at our studio with me doing all the parts once again.
This is song #28.

lyrics

Say That You’ll Stay 'Cause I Love You So.
Your Everything Is What I Need For Me To Love You More.
The Time Has Come For You To Go.
I’ve Seen A Lot Of What You Have That You Don’t Wanna Show.

Why Do I Try? I Don’t Know Why.
I’m All Alone, And I Want You For My Own.

Love Me Again. I Will Be True.
There Is No Reason For This Agony You’re Puttin’ Me Through.
Come To Me! Stay By My Side!
I Have So Much To Give So Don’t Go Off And Try To Hide.

I Want You So. Please Love Me More!
I’m All Alone, And I Want You For My Own.
And I Want You For My Own.
Yes I Want You For My Own.

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
