about

Years after recording this song on a two track recorder at my parent’s place, I had Kearney Barton of Audio Recording, Inc. save it on a cassette to preserve the “quality, or lack thereof” (integrity) of the song.
This song features Wayde Brown (me) on all the instruments. There are too many to remember since I recorded it back in 1986 I think. I had a two track stereo and every time I overdubbed beyond the 2 tracks, I would lose significant quality of the previously recorded track. I did this on purpose and wanted to try this experiment only on this song specifically. I believe I overdubbed at least 14 times, and it gave it a really odd and psychedelic feel to it. I remember one of my friends said it was an interesting song but it sounded like poop and he laughed at me. But, that was kind of the point of the song. So, one can say that this is truly an avant-garde song but with a partial form and pattern to it. I did some more overdubs, along with my 3 year old niece, making various noises and playing various instruments, after I transferred the song onto the Audacity program to further the strange sound process and make it that much stranger.
To finish off this particular mix, I had to convert it from a cassette format onto the Audacity program on my computer with a JVC TD-W254 Double Cassette Deck 3 motor Silent Mechanism.
This is the 153rd song I wrote, which is actually early in my songwriting mode. With every passing year, I averaged 100 songs written until the 4th year, so this is about 1 ½ years after I started writing songs. (The last one hundred songs took over 2 decades to write since life simply got in the way.) I used this particular title of the song because I knew it sounded a bit strange, like the song itself. I was trying to write a song that was a combination of The Beatles “It's Only a Northern Song” and “It's All Too Much.” From the off timed drums and bass beats, to the overall muddy sound, it was exactly what I was looking for. I wrote this song in twenty minutes, around 2 in the morning during my summer vacation from school. It took over 22 years to get it to where I wanted. Most people will find this song to be rubbish, but it was a fun process to discover and rediscover.

Recorded at The CELL BLOCK Studio in Auburn, WA.

lyrics

ALL I THINK, ALL I SEE, ALL I KNOW IS YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME.
ALL I THINK, ALL I SEE, ALL I KNOW IS YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME.

ALL I WANT, ALL I HAVE, ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE AND HOLD
AND TO KISS YOU NOW IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD TO DO. OH, NO, NO (REPEAT)

ALL THE LITTLE THINGS THAT I SEE,
ALL THE LITTLE (AH) THINGS THAT I SEE,
YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO ME,
SO, SO MUCH TO ME,
SO MUCH TO ME. WOO!
(SOLO)
ALL I THINK, ALL I SEE, ALL I KNOW IS YOU'RE THE, IS YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME, ALRIGHT.
ALL I THINK, ALL I SEE, ALL I KNOW IS YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME.

ALL I WANT, ALL I HAVE, ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE AND HOLD
AND TO KISS YOU NOW IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD TO DO. OH, NO, NO (REPEAT)

about

The Santairs Auburn, Washington

I am a musician, singer, and songwriter doing this part-time but have been doing it all my life. I started singing before I could talk at the age of one, and wrote my first real song at 15 years of age. (If you count avant-garde as a song, then the age would be 7.) I currently own my own recording studio; and I write, perform, and record my own music (and other's from time to time.) I am Santairs. ... more
